Many who embark on a journey of wellness and health, find out all kinds of interesting bits and pieces of information. As I share information, keep in mind, I am not a professional nutritionist, fitness guru, trainer, chef or otherwise. I am an everyday person who was diagnosed with MS at age 49 and I am working to fight it's progression one day at a time. Here are the stories of my life. Maybe you'll like 'em and maybe you won't. But my hope is, someone, somewhere is googling, like I did when I was first diagnosed with MS and so desperately needed information - and here you might find a little hope. Perhaps some nugget of something, that makes the googling worth it and maybe helps to chase some fears away and get some sleep.
Welcome to my HOOG!

Transformation can happen

I had the amazing opportunity to hoop with two studios in Cedar Rapids, IA today.  The day before I am volunteering and speaking at an event with Dr. Terry Wahls, Well, it is not just with her, it is HER event. I decided to HOOP A LOT! Call me crazy! It was amazing. I am tired and happy and HOOP BLOGGING about it. That would be HOOGING about it!

Thank you to Kristy Butterfield for having me into Sisters Health Club this morning. I had a great time hooping with your community! Cannot wait to see who I meet later this week. And to Donna Johnson Herring of Metamorphosis Pilates Center the evening hoop and chat was outstanding and so much fun. Thanks for letting me Hang out at the end.

A number of people asked about my journey with MS and Hooping - they go hand in hand.  I was diagnosed with MS (2012), started eating healthy, hooping and doing whatever I could to make sure I was getting better not worse. Thank you to my sister for egging me on, and Dr. Terry Wahls for putting yourself out there for me to see.

An interesting thing about eating better, is your body responds to that good food you eat. Taking out bad food is also something your body responds too. In the early stages of my journey I lost 50 pounds (And I have kept it off), while just working hard to be healthier. My journey was not about the weight loss, it was about the MS. But being obese is a problem and one I had not faced.  Losing weight helped me feel better and allowed me to recover, move better and enjoy my life more.

I said I would post a few pictures of me with a time line. Here are a few pictures.
